Instalink already processes millions of requests every day with over 99.999% up time. Over the years this platform has exceeded our expectations for accuracy, reliability, and efficiency. However, we know it isn't perfect. Specifically, Instalink could be prone to memory allocation overruns at higher scales of data ingestion. This would make it difficult to pull in extremely large data sets during the execution of a data flow. We recognized this and knew that we could do better.
So we have been working tirelessly for the past two years to improve our processors by rebuilding them entirely from scratch. The processors have been rebuilt using Rust. This allows our processors to be much more memory efficient while still improving our processing performance. For the past six months we have been slowly rolling out the new version of Instalink to select customers. The results have been dramatic.
Memory usage is now less than 10% of where it was with the old version of Instalink. CPU usage is also down across the board. This means that each processor can handle more requests, it can process them faster, and it can handle more data. This translates into more throughput per processor and better system stability.

Now that we have verified that the new version of Instalink works well on a significant subset of accounts, we are ready to roll this out to the whole system. We will be converting all accounts over to the new version of Instalink. So on April 1, 2026 we will be officially deprecating the old version of Instalink and all accounts will be migrated by that date.
No action is required from our customers. The new version of Instalink is designed to function exactly the same as the old version so nothing in the projects or data flows needs to be modified. Through the past six months of testing on production accounts, we believe that we have the new version of Instalink in a production ready state. However it is possible that some edge case exists that we did not anticipate fully. So in the unlikely event that an issue does occur with the migration, we can quickly and easily roll the account back and then address any issue that may be discovered in the new version of Instalink.
The migration to the new version of Instalink requires no action from our customers and it will cause no downtime for the accounts. We also have many exciting new features coming out that will only be supported on the new version of Instalink. Please reach out to your representative if you have any questions about this migration process.
